The Rocky Creek Band originally
hails from Laurens County in middle Georgia. Danny
Howard and Jeff McLeod began playing together in 1973
and adopted the Rocky Creek name some years after that.
The band consists of five dedicated musicians who
collectively have played with many different groups over
the years.
Danny Howard plays lead guitar and
provides essential harmony vocals for the band, as well
as stepping out on lead vocals from time to time.
Jeff McLeod plays lead guitar and
is the group’s front man and lead singer.
Donny Screws plays drums and sings
lead vocals on many of the group’s popular numbers.
James Lamb plays bass guitar and
holds down the bottom for the RCB.
Eddie Thomas is the group’s newest
member. Eddie plays pedal steel guitar and also can
play a mean lead guitar as well as bass guitar. He is
truly a versatile musician.
The Rocky Creek Band has opened
shows for Loretta Lynn, George Jones, David Allen Coe,
T.G. Shepherd, Ronnie McDowell, Confederate Railroad,
and Jerry Clower. The band is available to play clubs,
dances, private parties, festivals, stage shows, and any
other function. They can also provide a professional
sound system for festivals, concerts, and other
functions where sound reinforcement is needed. The
groups self titled CD was released in 2003. They are
presently making plans to record a second CD.
